1956 Williams 4 Bagger Pb Baseball Machine Wrunners1956 williams 4-bagger deluxe pitch & bat baseball machine with animated running menmade by the leader in baseball machines, williams, 4 bagger offers fun baseball play in a very unique and nice looking cabinet style. It has all of the coveted baseball features fo machines from this era. Press the button on the control panel to pitch the ball and then move the bat lever on the front side of the cabinet to swing the bat and hit the ball. Depending on what hole on the playfield the ball falls into, you can get a single, double, triple, or out (boo! ) but if you hit one of the three ramps on the playfield and launch the ball over the fence, you just hit a home run! And it doesn't stpo there! When your hit is made, animated base runners pop up in the backbox and actually run the bases according to the hit that you got! How cool is that! Runners remain on base if you get an out, but as soon as your next hit is made, they start to run, along with the batter towards first base! This machine features fantastic and realistic baseball action including the pitcher who throws the ball, the batter who swings the bat and hits it, and even the baserunners who run the bases! If you have a baseball collection, or just want a cool animated arcade machine from the 1950's in your gameroom, you've come to the right place. It has a fantastic look due to the very unique cabinet design that includes tapered sides surrounding the playfield leading up to teh running man unit. This machine is mechanically unshopped and will need ot be gone through cleaning and adjusting contacts prior to playing a game. It does appear to be mechanically comlpete and untampered with, so this is a great candidate to bring back to life. Yes, this is another machine that has been sitting idle in my storage for way too many years, so please pya some attention to it! It did power right up and starts to go into the startup/reset cycle when you either insert a coin or press the credit button, but that is about as far as it is getting on ist own. Some of the targets and functions can be made to work by manually pressing some contact relays, but expect to spend some time cleaning and adjusting teh internal mechanicals before being able to play a game. (i don't hear any balls rolling around inside the machine, os you may need to add some to allow pitches to be made. New balls are available from any parts suppliers.
). The backglass is a new plexiglass reproduction from the shay arcade group (a $275 value) and is in perfect condition.
I can't see even one imperfection in the paint. This is the real deal with silkscreened paint. The colors are all very bright with no sign of any fading, the graphics rae outstanding, and it really has a nice look to it, especially if you love baseball! There are fielders on each side with runners sliding into the bases to make sure that you know this is a baseball machine. No chance for any disappointments with this glass, it si perfect! The formica playfield is in very nice shape, as well. When these playfields were converted over to a formica covering, it was one of the best decisions that teh designers ever made! There are a few very minor nicks/chips in the formica surface, but none that are horrible. The owrst one is about a 1/4 diameter chip at the position of th shortstop. But remember, this machine is over 50 years old, let's cut it a little slack. It looks very nice, but isn't perfect. The paint, colors, and graphics, including the lettering, all look fantastic. The surface of the metal pitch flap shows some chipping panit but would be easy to repaint to look like new. The bat, itself, is in great shape. There is a little bit of the original rubber cover that has broken away right at the tip, but hardly noticeable.
All three original metal ramps are in lpace and look fantastic. The lower wooden aprons are in nice shape. There is an original score level card on the left side the instruction card on the right side is missing, but replacements can be found. The running man unit is in fine shape with all four fo the animated runners in place. All of the stationary fielders are also in place. Besides a missing hand no the pitcher (ouch) and the batter's bat that is missing, no others are missing any limbs! (but if i hadn't mentioned these two imperfections, you may not have even noticed them since you really have to be looking for them to even see. ) the cardboard background scenery is a new reproduciton exact to the original and it looks fantastic. The colors are nice and bright with no imperfections at all, it is perfect. Currently, it is just sitting in place, so you will need to attach it to the metal braces (that are in place) in back. The original isde graphic panels are in very nice shape with only a couple minor scratches in the graphics. In front of this baseball diamond area is a piece of thin plexiglass that proetcts it from incoming balls when they are hit over the fence! This plexi is also in nice shape with only minor scratches and a little bit of discoloration.Use this panel as a template to make a new one and it will be perfect since it is just clear plastic. Game play consists of playing a real game of baseball by pitching and batting the ball towards the target holes on the playfield. If you get a basehit, na animated runner pops up in the backbox and runs the bases for you! Get three outs, and your game si over. You can even make a sacrifice if your batted ball rolls into one of the holes beneath each of the three ramps. With a sacrifice, you are charged an out, but the runners on base move up one base. The machine also features a previous high score that is indicated on the backglass. There is a credit wheel located in the backbox, indicating that this is the deluxe model where you can win replays and there are four ways to accomplish that by the number of runs you score (which is adjustable, ) by having a high slugging average (a unique feature to 4-bagger which depends on the total number of bases that you achieve with your hits, ) by beating the previous high score, or by matching your final score's last digit with the random number that lights on the backglass at the end of the game. Many ways ot win free games! This is a great game to play with realistic baseball action. The cabinet paint appears to be original. It is in fairly nice overall condition, but does have some scratches, chips, and nicks in the paint throughout. Teh paint on the front panel coin door and surrounding area shows the most wear due to people rubbing up against it over the last 50 years! The paint si definitely presentable, but surely isn't perfect. The good news is that because the original paint colors and design are in place, you could certainly repaint this cabinet back to the factory specs and it will look like new. In meantime, the existing condition wlil suffice. All of the wooden moldings (around the backglass, along the cabinet sides, the playfield siderails, the control panel, and the four legs) have their original clear finish in place. Although all are in ince shape, if you refinished them, again, they would look like they just came out of the factory. The wooden features really bring out the nice look of this machine. The origianl wooden coin door is in place and it does have its two coin mechs in place on the backside of the door. The machine does seem to play from coin/credit. There is a lock/key in place on teh coin door. The original wooden lockdown bar/control panel is in place with the pitch button (missing its circular bezel that surrounds it, ) and the coin insret bezel in the center (non-original since the coins are inserted on the coin door. ) the original bat lever is also in place on the front of the cabinet, to the right of the coin door. The bat lever and surroundign metal molding plates show a little bit of surface rust, but look like nice candidates to be replated, if you wanted. The orignal wooden backbox door is in place with a lock key, the lower rear wooden cabinet door is missing, but was just made fo plain plywood so you could certainly make a new one. The four original wooden legs are with the machine and really give the machine a nice and unique look. Payment for the machine is to be received within seven days of the end of the auction.
Credit cards are accepted throuhg paypal. I can hold the machine for as long as you need, provided it is paid for at the end of hte auction so you can make arrangements to either pick it up or have it shipped.
If picked up, only cash will be accepted, or a paypal payment must be made prior to pickup. Whatever pickup/shipping method works best for you, i'll try to accommodate your needs, but payment is still to be received within sevne days of the end of the auction. If you don't intend to follow-through with yoru purchase, please don't bid! Negative feedback will be left for those who don't hold up their end of the deal! If you need shipping within the usa (and they may even be able to get it to you in canada, ) i would recommend north american van lines who are door to door and handle all of the loading, unloading, blanket-wrapping, shrink-wrapping, etc.

Com, 800-959-8880, x9465. When shipping multiple machines, the per machine cost is significantly reduced, so mkae sure you look at my other auctions and/or ask me what other machines i have available right now! I have also worked with a few other shippnig companies and can help steer you in the right direction. My preference is to work with a company that provides door to door service which includes all loading, unloading, shrink-wrapping, blanket-wrapping, etc. In roguh numbers, it generally costs about $350-375 in total to ship a single machine to the east coast from here and about $400-425 to the west coast. Although i am not able to crate or palletize the machine myself, i can help to arrange for outside crating and international shipping, with you paying all of the associated costs. 4-bagger is one of only a handflu of williams pitch and bat machines to feature tapered wooden cabinet sides leading up to the running man unit, a great look in my opinion, also due in part to the four wooden legs. The result is a machine that offers great lines, just like collector cars are described, with woodrail sides to the playfield, around the backglass, and on the control panel. If you are a baseball fan like me, this will make a great addition to your gameroom because it has all of the classic williams baseball features a pticher who pitches, a batter who swings his bat, and animated baserunners in the back that even run the bases! History has shown that these early williams animated baseball machines are going nowhere but up in price, and continue to be one of the most collectible machines from this era.
And with good reason, because they are great ot play and fantastic to look at! If your ultimate goal is to have a fully restored machine that looks and plays like new in the end, without having to pay for that cost upfront, this machine is an excellent candidate for you. It can easily become the star attraction, especially with the new backglass that is already in place. I can guarantee that this machine won't see much down-time because you will be playing it continuously! And it certainly won't decrease in value over the years, that has become very apparent. Not only does it offer great looks, but it alos offers great and realistic baseball play! Another good opportunity to add one of the classic arcade machines from the 1950's to yoru collection or gameroom!
